John Hunt led the first Everest Expedition in 1953. It was the first successful British expedition through the Khumbu Icefalls and the South Col route. His two members, Sir Adman Hillary and Tenzing Norgay, conquered the tallest peak in the world on May 29, 1953.  After 1953, the national and International mountaineers set historic records each season.

The Everest expedition is in a high-altitude environment. Mountaineers need an acclimated body and are well-trained for it. Sometimes, the mountaineers experienced a heartbreaking disaster on Mountain Everest. Anyway, it is a great dream of mountaineers to stand at the pinnacle of the Earth. Mountain Everest (8,848.86 meters) is located on the border of Nepal and Tibet. It is known as Sagarmatha in Nepali and Chomolungma in Tibetan or Sherpa.

We manage all logistics, supply gear, and employ mountaineering guides, cooks (also known as chefs), high-altitude crews, and porters. The high-altitude crews set up tents at Base Camp and the higher camps I, II, III, and IV. A cook (chef) prepares hygienic meals.

The Everest Expedition begins in Lukla, following a flight from Kathmandu or Ramechhap. On acclimatization days at EBC, the mountaineering guide trains you in glacier travel, crevasse crossing by ladder, and the use of oxygen, masks, and regulators. The Khumbu Icefall doctors fix rope and aluminum ladders from Base Camp to Camp II every season.

The high-altitude crews supply all the gear, food, fuel, and Poisk Oxygen bottles with the TOP OUT masks and regulators. The crews set up expedition tents higher up in the camps. We will undertake a safe acclimatization rotation through the Khumbu Icefall route between EBC and Camp III, and then return to EBC after completing the acclimatization training.

After the acclimatization training, we will rest at EBC and review the weather forecast for the final Everest Summit push. Again, we head up through the Khumbu Icefall route to Camp I and  II. Next, we head up through the icy Lhotse face of Camp III and traverse to Camp IV (South Col). From the South Col, we proceed directly to Everest’s summit (8,848.86 meters) via Hillary’s step. We provide one mountaineering guide for one climber (1:1 ratio) to scale the summit and safely retrace steps to the EBC.

Ultimately, the high-altitude crews returned all the garbage we had made in the higher camps to the base camp. The kitchen staff cleans campsites at the base camp, and we do not leave any trash behind on the way.

Day to day itinerary:

We take good care of guests from arrival to departure at Kathmandu International Airport. When you arrive, please check the cardboard where "High Camp Trekking" is written. Our company representative will help you get to the hotel in Thamel (tourist center).

We give a briefing about the Everest trek and climbing expedition preparation. You can also buy the necessary equipment in Kathmandu.

We go to the hotel domestic terminal after breakfast. It's a scenic flight to Lukla, where you can see middle hills and panoramic views of snow crown peaks from the left window of an airplane. We take you to the hotel for tea or coffee drinks and introduce you to porters who carry your luggage for the trip. Leaving Lukla, we walk downhill through Rhododendron trees to reach the Chaurikharka village. We also see the Kusum Khang Peak from Thade Kosi and Dudh Kosi River. The trial is lined with Mani Mantra carving on boulders, Stupas, and prayer flags before you reach Phakding. We do a side trip to the Pema Chholing monastery in the afternoon.

Leaving Phakding, we follow Dudh Kosi valley northward to reach Manju village, where Sagarmatha National Park hiking passes checks of each trekker. From here, we go downhill through the Rhododendron trees and cross the suspension bridge to reach Jhorsale village, where we have a lunch break. We prepare plenty of water for the uphill walk to Namche. We go to Larja Dovan and uphill walk to twin high bridges over the Dudh Kosi River. From here, we go through Rhododendron and pine forests to Top Danda, the Everest viewpoint, before reaching Namche. We see Thamserku, Kusum Khang, and the first glimpse of Mt. Everest en route. Namche is the Sherpa capital and the leading trade center in the Khumbu region. A weekly local market of fresh foodstuffs is brought from lower villages on Friday and Saturday.

We hike to Everest View Hotel, Khumjung, and Khunde villages. We drink a cup of tea on the terrace of Everest View Hotel, which has views of Everest and Ama Dablam. Then, we visit Khumjung School and the monastery. The monastery has a Yeti skull. From here, we go to Khunde village and descend to Namche. In the afternoon, we rest or shop in Namche.

Today, we go to Tengboche. The trekking path is easy to Kyangjuma through a memorial Stupa of Tenzin Norgay, which has excellent views of Everest, Lhotse, and Ama Dablam in the Khumbu region. From here, we go downhill through Laussa village to reach Phungi Thanga. The officer checks the hiking passes here. Then, we go uphill through the pine and rhododendron forests to reach Tengboche. We will visit the monastery in the late afternoon. The monks chanting at the monastery and the sunset over Everest are not being missed at Tengboche.

We go downhill through Rhododendron and the Oaks Forest to Deboche. Several good lodges are a great alternative to Tengboche. Going to the bridge over Imja Khola, we might see pheasant and Himalayan Thar (mountain goats) en route. From here, we get to Pangboche, a permanent village in the Khumbu region. The trekkers' favorite view of Ama Dablam is closed from here. We ascend along the valley opposite Ama Dablam to reach Somare. Then, we walk above tree lines through the wide trail to reach Dingboche.

In the morning, we hike to Nangkarsang Hill for safe acclimatization. When we climb the ridge to Nangkarshang, we have an amazing view of mountains (including Makalu, 8463m) in all directions. We come back to Dingboche for lunch, and we have free time in the afternoon. Dingboche is the highest place where barley grows in the Khumbu region. In July and August, open lodges are not allowed.

We catch the short, steep uphill to Stupa above Dingboche. Then, we walk through the valley to reach Thukla. From here, we ascend to Thukla Pass, which has a line of memorials of the famous mountaineers. Do not forget to take a photo of you and Ama Dablam in the background! Before Lobuche, we see panoramic views of snow-crowned peaks lying on the border between Tibet and Nepal. We tour the Pyramid in the afternoon and come back to Lobuche.

We ascend through a rocky trail northward to reach Gorakshep. Then, we head up to Everest Base Camp through a rocky trail along the side of the Khumbu glacier. The base camp crews greet us with a welcome drink! Even though we see gigantic peaks around, Khumbu Icefalls are the main attraction at the Base of Everest.

Before the start of the climbing expedition, we have a puja (Buddhist ceremony) at EBC led by a local Lama.

The guide gives refreshment climbing training covering techniques such as glacier travel, rope fixing, ascending, descending, abseiling, belaying, using O2 with regulator and musk, and safety techniques on ladder climbs.

After breakfast, we hike up to PumaRi High Camp for acclimatization. En route, we see Khumbu glaciers and Icefalls. We then return to EBC for lunch.

The Icefalls doctors (Sherpa guides) have already fixed ropes and ladders through the Khumbu Icefalls to Camp I at an elevation of 6000m. Our Sherpa crews lug food and equipment and set up expedition tents at Camps I, II, and III. Then, we start acclimatized climbs through Icefalls and Western Wcm from EBC to Camp III. We rest several days at each camp before returning to EBC from Camp III.

When taking luxury rest at EBC, the Sherpa crews fix the line between Camp III and IV at South Col 8000m and supply O2 bottles for the summit push.

We check the weather forecast for the summit goal. After getting confirmation of a favorable weather forecast, we climb through the Khumbu Icefalls approach to Camp I. We have the gentle climbs through Western Wcm (a glaciated valley) to reach Camp II. We climb toward mountain Lhotse's icy face to reach Camp III. Then, we will climb to Camp IV on the South Col, the last camp on the expedition. From here, we climb through Hillary's step toward the summit of Everest. We see the views of Kanchenjunga & Makalu in the east, Cho Oyu in the west, and all the peaks of Khumbu below us. The Sherpa guide accompanies a member (1:1) during the summit climb. We take a summit photo and retrace the back step to Camps below us day by day.

We retrace the back steps to Pheriche by passing Gorakshep, Lobuche, and Thukla.

After breakfast, we are leaving Pheriche. We descend through the valley to reach Upper Pangboche, which has the oldest monastery in the Khumbu region. We visit the monastery and enjoy close-up views of Ama Dablam in Upper Pangboche. After lunch, we are heading to Phortse through the less crowded trail of trekkers. En route, we could see Pheasants (the national bird of Nepal), Musk deer, and Himalayan Thar (wild mountain goats).

Leaving Phortse, we descend to Phortse Thanga and climb up to the ridge of Mong La 4075m, which is the birthplace of Lama Sange Dorje. There are Mani walls around the oldest Stupas. We drink a cup of tea and enjoy the views of Ama Dablam and Khumbu Valley. From here, we descend steep downhill to Kyangjuma, where we take lunch. We are on the main trail and retracing back steps to Namche.

We continue to retrace back steps downhill Dudh Khosi Valley and pass Phakding village to reach Lukla. We have a party to say thank you and goodbye to the trek crew at Lukla.

We fly back to Kathmandu in the morning. We go shopping in Thamel on a free afternoon.

Please read carefully. The cost includes and does not include the above. All meals are included with tea and coffee while on the trek. We do not involve drinking or boiling water, which can be purchased at the lodge for $1 to $ 3 per liter. You can take water-purifying tablets or Seripen for a cheaper solution. Wi-Fi, battery charges, and hot showers are omitted. Wi-Fi is $6 per card. The battery charge costs $1 to $ 4 per hour per device (a power bank is a cheaper alternative). The gas shower is $3 to $7 per head.

Suppose the Lukla flight is canceled due to weather conditions. In that case, you are responsible for any additional hotel nights and meals in Kathmandu and Lukla for any extra days. Due to the weather conditions, no extra payment is required to reschedule the flight. But, there can be less priority for flight-canceled passengers on the following day. If unexpected circumstances arise, such as a standard flight cancellation due to weather conditions, we kindly request that you pay for the Helicopter charter flight.

We ensure all the crews are provided with warm enough equipment. We do our best for your safety. However, we suggest you buy comprehensive travel insurance covering flight cancellation, medical treatment, and Helicopter rescue emergency evacuation. Please purchase a policy that covers trekking and mountaineering activities up to 8,848.86 meters for the days you will be trekking and expediting.
