Everest Base Camp Trek is a famous hiking journey in the Himalayas of Nepal. Mt. Everest (8848.86m) lies in the Sagarmatha National Park (Natural World Heritage Site). The trek is a way to experience the culture of the Sherpa people and the most iconic mountain views in the world. The Sherpas migrated to the Everest region from eastern Tibet 600 years ago. In Tibetan, sher means Eastern part, and Pa means people. So, Sherpa means people from the east part. It is one of the most famous ethnic groups in Nepal nowadays as a mountaineering guide.

The Everest Base Camp Trek begins with a flight to Lukla (Tenzin—Hillary Airport) at elevation 2840m after you have spent a day discovering the historic treasures of Kathmandu and preparing for the trek. En route to Everest Base Camp, hiking trails are lined with Mani-stones (carvings with Buddhist prayers), prayer flags (five different colors), Stupas, and ancient monasteries.

We will take you to the Sherpa villages and explain their unique culture and festivals, such as Mani Rimdum and Dumje. We can see a Yeti Skull at Khumjung and Upper Pangboche monasteries. Sherpa has a tale of a Yeti.

We follow safe acclimatization rules and carefully design trek schedules for acclimatization at a high altitude, which helps you successfully achieve a trip of a lifetime to Everest Base Camp (EBC) at 5364m. We include ascents to the best viewpoints, such as Kala Pattar (5545m), to see close-up views of Mt. Everest, Lhotse, South Col, Nuptse, Puma Ri, Khumbutse, Khumbu Icefalls, and Khumbu glacier.

We stop at the lodge with a room with twin beds, a sleeping pad, and pillows. It has to share toilets and washing facilities with teahouse guests. A warm enough sleeping bag is highly recommended for taking with you.

Everest’s South Base Camp Trek is a famous hiking destination worldwide after Sir Adman Hillary and Tenzing Norgay Sherpa conquered Mt. Everest together on May 29th, 1953. Many mountaineers are still following the path of Sir Adman Hillary and Tenzing Norgay to reach the summit of Mt. Everest (8848.86m) each year. The Everest Base Camp looks like a tent city from March to May.

Next, the steep ascends to Tengboche through pine and Rhododendron trees. The scared Tengboche monastery is on the top of the hill with views of gigantic peaks. The monastery is the home of Rimpoche and 30 monks who practice deep Vajrayana (belief in deep meditation) Buddhism at Tengboche. There is a massive statue of Sakyamuni Buddha and a lovely wall painting inside the monastery. The visitors have a sitting place on the right corner of the praying hall. We see the footprints of Lama Sange Dorje on solid rock and the Mandala of the "Wheel of Life" at the monastery's entrance.

A 9-day-long Mani Rimdum Festival (famous monks dance with musk) is celebrated at Tengboche monastery on the full moon of October.
