My name is Chheduk Man Lama, and I am the owner and managing director of High Camp Trekking. I have been working as a Sirdar (guide) since 1975. From 1975 to 1999, I worked with several well-known commercial trekking companies, leading trekking and mountaineering groups. I have successfully guided expeditions in Nepal, including climbs to Mt. Kanchenjunga (8,585 meters, the world’s third highest peak), Mt. Dhaulagiri (8,167 meters, the sixth highest peak), and Mt. Makalu (8,463 meters, the fifth highest peak). Additionally, I have led numerous expeditions to popular trekking peaks such as Island Peak, Mera Peak, Lobuche Peak, Naya Khanga, and Pisang Peak.
Through my experiences, I have provided services to many clients and gained extensive knowledge about trekking and mountaineering, which allows me to offer exceptional services to our guests.
I have also traveled extensively as a guide to various peaks in India’s Ladakh, Kashmir, and Darjeeling, Bhutan, Pakistan’s K-2 Base Camp, and China’s Everest Advance Base Camp (North Side), Lhasa, Xigatse, Mansarovar Lake, Mt. Kailash, Purang, Tirthapuri, and Kuka.
In 1993, I visited the USA as a tourist for three months.
I run High Camp Trekking, my own agency, alongside my three sons, Norsang, Sanjay, and Samden, as part of our family business. With many years of experience in adventure tourism, I am eager to share my knowledge with clients and future generations. I wish all our clients to have enjoyable, fun, and memorable treks and climbing experiences in the Himalayas of Nepal with our guides. Thank you very much!
My name is Norsang Lama, and I am the owner and manager of High Camp Trekking. I began my journey in the trekking industry in 1998. My father, Chheduk Man, was a successful trekking guide, and I initially joined his team as a porter/carrier. I spent three years working as a porter, participating in large trekking groups across various popular trekking destinations in Nepal. During this time, with my father’s guidance, I learned about different mountains, villages, Nepal’s geography, and the local people’s cultures.
I studied at the Nepal Academy of Tourism and Hotel Management, where I completed a Trekking Guide course and training in 2001. I then worked as an assistant guide for my father’s sizeable trekking group for two years. Eventually, I became a professional trekking guide, successfully leading clients to the base camps and high passes of all eight-thousand-meter peaks in the Himalayas of Nepal.
I have successfully guided clients to the summits of notable peaks, including Mt. Everest (8848.86 m), Manaslu (8163 m), Ama Dablam (6812 m), Mera Peak (6470 m), Island Peak (6165 m), Lobuche East Peak (6119 m), Pisang Peak (6091 m), and Thorung Ri (6144 m) over the years. Through my extensive experience and training in trekking and mountaineering, I have gained valuable insights into the adventure tourism sector in Nepal, which has equipped me to manage a trekking company effectively.
I can provide detailed information about any trekking destination in Nepal, organize treks and mountaineering expeditions, and communicate with potential customers to plan their trips. On behalf of the High Camp Trekking team, I warmly welcome you to High Camp Trekking. Thank you very much!
